Masterclass in Timișoara (Romania) on 17 November

RoVinHud – as the name suggests – is a „winy reincarnation” of Robin Hood, the legendary rebel, who helped the poor. Zoltán Szövérdfi-Szép, the brain and the engine behind RoVinHud annual wine event has been working tirelessly to collect fund to help people with disabilities. I am proud to be part of the story, since Zoltán got inspirations from an event I used to organize, and also, I was there at the birth, I participated in the very first edition along with Jancis Robinson, the star of the show. Now, after 10 years I will be there again, this time I will conduct a masterclass about my beloved Spanish – mainly Catalan – sparkling wines, since I have lived in the centre of the Spanish sparkling wine production for eight years.

Venue: Hotel Timișoara, Timișoara city, Romania
What happens? The event is a walk-around wine exhibition with more than 30 wineries, plus masterclasses in various topics each day of the event.

And why the name, why RoVinHud? Simple: it is a Romanian AND Hungarian wine (vin) event for charity, like „Robin Hood”. (The city of Timișoara has a significant population of Hungarian people, including Zoltán, the chief organizer, this is why Hungarian nationality appears here).

Message from the organizers
„10 years ago, we revolutionized the Romanian wine fair concept. We selected the exhibitors according to the quality of the wines, organized masterclasses with international experts and used all the profit to support people with disabilities. All this with 100% volunteering.
Although we are not at the 10th edition (thanks covid), but we are already starting the celebration.
Selected exhibitors will bring their best wines this year as well. We will have 10 masterclasses, 3 will be with sparkling wines, so every day will start with bubbles.”
